Day 5 - Pupils alive and very well

It is clear from brief conversations that all the pupils really enjoyed the programmes put on by ir respective host families; these included trips to Holland, various Christmas markets and ten pin bowling. The pupils attended lessons this morning and a good amount of German was being used by them during the break this morning. Miss Beale and I are delighted the trip is going so well. I have to make an 'unscheduled trip' to Düsseldorf tomorrow morning to get a 'temporary travel document' from the British Consulate because my passport did not make it off the plane and the police suspect it has been stolen. The experience has been a good linguistic challenge!  Mr Morris and Miss Beale will be in school with the pupils tomorrow morning. The school is gearing up for the Christmas concert on Wednesday evening in one of the local churches and we have been invited to the staff Christmas party after that. The staff managed to enjoy some 'deutsche Gemütlichkeit', just around the corner from the school this morning.
